Didactics
Weekly didactics are held on Thursdays from 8am-1pm. With our well-rounded curriculum, residents have the opportunity to present on key topics, listen to the expertise from guest lecturers, and converse with faculty who regularly attend every week. Once a month, residents and faculty immerse themselves in simulated cases with professional actors and local EMS in our Sim center.
We encourage creativity with presentations! Whether it’s Game Show style, Haunted Houses, or Escape Rooms, we like to stay entertained during didactics.
Journal Club
Every month, residents are excused from clinical duties to attend journal club, where residents lead discussions regarding research articles. Faculty, families, and medical students are always welcomed. Whether at a faculty’s home or at a local restaurant, journal club highlights the overlap between scientific debate and bonding with your residency family.
Research & QI Projects
All residents have a great deal of support needed to accomplish their research requirements by the end of their training. With dedicated research faculty, an expansive online kaiser library, and library staff to assist with literature reviews and statistical analyses, residents often find themselves presenting their research and QI projects at regional and national conventions.
